Chris Dunn, while a principal at SE Group and EDAW, worked with the Town of Telluride for seven years preparing a series of studies to determine the zoning regulations governing the property as well as determining the highest and best use allowed on the land. A series of studies and documents were prepared for the Town prior to deciding to pursue eminent domain proceedings as well as during the legal proceedings and court hearings. A wide range of possible options were explored, quantified, and analyzed in context with both the regulatory environment as well as the local and regional economic and market conditions. These studies led to the Town of Telluride gaining ownership to the land upon paying the full appraised value.
